Welcome
Mrs Carol Spillane, Headteacher
Welcome to the Calder High School website which we trust you will find a valuable source of information about the school and all of the opportunities that it offers to its students and people in the local community. We are immensely proud of our heritage; Calder High School was Yorkshire's first ever comprehensive and the first Oxbridge graduate with a comprehensive background was educated here. However we do not dwell on the past. Our business is to shape the future, to give our young people the best possible start in life and to contribute to the development of the educational system on a wider level. As a Specialist Technology College and Training School, we have an excellent reputation for the quality of our work. This is a school which prides itself on a publicly declared aim to become recognised as a place that is exceptional in every area of its activity.
Our last OFSTED report is available on this site. I do hope that you will visit these pages regularly to keep in touch with us and that I will have the opportunity to meet with you personally at some point in the future.
