The Governing Body wishes to appoint a highly motivated, experienced leader to build on the school’s considerable successes. Calder High School is a thriving and over-subscribed 11–19 comprehensive with Specialist Technology and Training School status. Highly regarded by students, parents and the local community; its most recent Ofsted Report described it as good with outstanding features.

HOW TO APPLY
Application forms must be completed in full. The applicant’s Statement should demonstrate your vision and how you would address the specific issues included in the key priorities of the job description. It should be no more than 2 pages of A4 with a font size of 12.

Why Calder High School?


Calder High School is a Specialist Technology College and Training School of 1300 students, including approximately 250 in its well-established Sixth Form, housed in a separate state-of-the-art building. The school, which Ofsted describe as ‘good’ with some ‘outstanding’ features (Nov 08), is situated close to Hebden Bridge in the heart of the picturesque Calder Valley, with Leeds and Manchester easily accessible.

As a Training School Calder High is highly committed to developing its staff and there is an extensive programme of CPD, ITE and EPD to which the successful candidate will both contribute and be entitled to.
