Students from the School put on displays at each of the brand new venues, a group of Netballers, Tennis players and also a small group of Climbers. The Mayor of Hebden-Royd, Betty Ward, cut the ribbons to open up each of the sites. Natalie Woolley, England U21 International netball player, came along to give a short lesson to the Netball players from our School. All of the players looked to be having fun, we asked one of the players, Hannah Mundell from Year 9, what she thought of the new Courts; she said: “I think that the new courts are much better than the old ones, and make it easier to play sport”. Visitors gathered around to discuss the Courts, and also future developments to other such facilities. A few students from Year 9 came along to ask Mr Kay (Head of PE) a few questions, for their English work, on the Courts and about Sport, etc.

Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves and seemed happy that the Courts are finally now in use …So, now that they’re open, we can all look forward to using these three fantastic facilities!
